epi 101 PILOT partie 1

bon je vous mets au passage ce que j'ai trouvé sur l'âge des autres persos Wink

Citation :
SLIGHTLY WIDER on the Man's face as he stares upward,
disoriented, stunned. 40-years-old. Fit. In normal
circumstances, one glance would make you feel confident in
him. Trusting. But here, now, he's the one in trauma.

Citation :
With the DEAFENING VOLUME of the jet drowning out any
dialogue, we see Jack YELLING for TWO MEN close by (one of
them is LOCKE, 58, je le croyais pas si vieux someone else we'll get to know in a bit) --
they run over and help -- and the three STRAIN HARD as they
lift the chair sections off -- Jack then moves to the man --

approaches. 25. English rocker. Self-deprecating
--
somewhere between an adult and a child. This is CHARLIE.
These two have never spoken.
CHARLIE
-- You, uh... s'cuse me, ya
sure you should be smoking--?
SAWYER
-- You sure you want me to
shove my foot up your ass?
A beat.
CHARLIE
Okay. Excellent, just... thought I'd
raise it.
Charlie walks off. A beat later, he returns --
CHARLIE (CONT'D)
-- Mind if I... bum one then? Thanks...
Charlie takes a cig from tough Sawyer, then walks off.


epi 102 Pilot partie 2

Citation :
KATE
What -- ?
But Jack is already pulling his pack off, immediately enters
the fray, pulling the men apart --
JACK
-- All right, ENOUGH!
SAYID
I’ve had enough of this guy!
You accuse me of being a
criminal?! What next? I
suppose you think I am
responsible for the crash!
SAWYER
You’ve had enough of me?! If
the shoe fits, buddy! Look
around! They all know it’s
you! I’m just the only one
SAYING it!
JACK (CONT’D)
HEY! What the hell --?
Michael is here, holds up the pair of CUFFS --
MICHAEL
My kid found these out in the jungle.
On Jack. Kate. Charlie. All digesting this as...
SAWYER
(finger in Sayid’s face)
And this guy was in the back row of
business class the whole flight. Never
got up. Hands folded under his blanket.
And for some crazy reason -- I’m just
pointing this out -- the guy I saw next
to him didn’t make it. Do the math --
(nose to nose with Sayid)
You’re the prisoner, muchacho.
SAYID
Thank you so much for
observing my behavior so very
carefully --
-- If you do not take your
finger out of my face --
SAWYER
You think I didn’t see them
pull you out of line before
we boarded?
-- Oh, please -- bring it--
And they’re about to go at it all over again when --
KATE
STOP!
And they do. All eyes on Kate. Strong. Defiant. Angry.
KATE (CONT’D)
We actually DO have bigger problems than
this.
(beat, pulls the TRANSCEIVER
from Jack’s pack)
We found the transceiver. But it’s not
working. Can anybody help...?
A beat. Then, of all people, Sayid steps forward. Turns
back, looks directly at fuckin’ Sawyer.
SAYID
Yes, I might be able to.
SAWYER
Oh yeah, good! This guy! Perfect!
Let’s trust him -- !
HURLEY
Hey -- we’re all in this together, man.
Let’s try to treat each other with --
SAWYER
Shut up, lardo.
JACK
HEY -- Give it a break.
SAWYER
(fuck you)
Whatever you say, Doc, you’re the hero.
And Sawyer walks off, passing Jack, BUMPING him as he goes.
Jack watches him, not liking him one bit --



Citation :
Sawyer watches them go as he sits on part of the shattered
wing, near the remains of one of the enormous engines. He's
taking final drags on a cig. In general, a "fuck 'em all"
attitude.
After a beat, something weighing on his mind, he pulls his
wallet from a back pocket. Opens it. Pulls out a folded
piece of paper. Unfolds it.
TIGHT on Sawyer's face as he re-reads the page.
And slowly... his face changes. His eyes awash in concern...
and, more surprisingly, vulnerability. He just stares at the
mysterious letter... his eyes actually WELLING UP with what
he reads.

Finally, quickly, he re-folds it -- puts it back in his
wallet, more anxious and troubled than we've seen him.
He finishes the cigarette and puts it out on the damn
airplane that brought him here.
He gets up and moves off, quickly, after the others.
120 EXT. JUNGLE - DAY 120
On Kate, with Sayid at the head of the group. Charlie,
Shannon and Boone behind her in that order. They're just
entering the jungle -- the growth gets thick quickly.
And now we CUT BACK TO SAWYER, who moves quickly, determined,
through the jungle -- passing Boone, Charlie, Shannon -- then
Sayid and KATE, who he looks at, walking with her for a
moment. Their eyes lock. She's surprised -- and not
pleased.
Laughing Laughing j'adore Razz
KATE
Decided to join us?
SAWYER
Yeah, looks like it.
KATE
What changed your mind?
SAWYER
(mind your own business)
I'm a complex guy, Sweetheart.

And Sawyer keeps walking, taking the lead. Kate wanting to
tell him off -- but not. And we...



Citation :
Another WIDE SHOT. Different area, some time later. And our
GROUP arrives, hiking through. As they do:
SAWYER
Okay. Wide open space.
(to Sayid)
You should check the radio -- see if
we're good.
SAYID
We're not gonna have any reception yet --
SAWYER
-- Tell you what -- just try it.
SAYID
I don't want to waste the batteries --
SAWYER
-- I'm not asking you to keep it on all
day --
SAYID
-- We're still blocked by the mountain --
SAWYER
-- Just check the damn radio!
SAYID
If I just CHECK, we might not have any
juice left when we get to --
A sudden RUMBLE -- they all turn to look toward the SOUND,
coming from the OVERGROWN GRASS FIELD -- something LOUD --
something COMING, FAST -- and they all FREEZE, afraid --
BOONE
-- The hell's that?
SHANNON
(quiet, sudden panic)
-- oh God --
And they all turn to look -- to the distant, tall-growing
GRASS -- PUSH IN on our characters -- KATE --
KATE
...Something's coming --
Then we SMASH CUT TO:
EXT. TALL GRASS - DA129 Y 129
-- We're RIPPING THROUGH THE GRASS at a SIDE-ANGLE -- A VIEW
OF THE LEGS OF THIS CHARGING, SNORTING BEAST -- BUT IT'S
MOVING SO FUCKING FAST THAT IT'S JUST A LOUD, HORRIFYING BLUR
and just as fast we SMASH CUT BACK TO:
130 EXT. JUNGLE - DAY 130
WHIP TO CHARLIE, TERRIFIED if under-stated:
CHARLIE
(choked voice)
-- Coming towards us, I think...?
-- Hell yeah, it is -- a hundred yards away and closing --
it's BIG, it's CHARGING, and it's KICKING UP DUST in the over
grown grass --
131 EXT. TALL GRASS - DAY 131
-- Another FAST, LOUD BLUR of a CHARGING CREATURE and --
132 EXT. JUNGLE - DAY 132
-- Kate's been through too much now -- she grabs Charlie and
the two run off --
KATE
LET'S MOVE!
The RUMBLING CHARGE -- A SNORTING BEAST GETTING LOUDER --
Shannon just stands there, SCREAM-SHRIEKING OUT OF HER MIND:
SHANNON
I SHOULDN'T HAVE COME ON THIS!!!
-- And Boone grabs her and YANKS her away and Kate is RUNNING
to, she turns back to Sawyer, who stands there alone,
intensely facing whatever's coming -- and Kate yells:
KATE
SAWYER, COME ON!!!
NO, SAWYER!!!
SAYID
LET HIM GO!
But Sawyer doesn't move -- instead he does something wildly
surprising: HE PULLS OUT A GUN AND BEGINS FIRING AT THE
APPROACHING THING! BAM! BAM! BAM!
And Kate and the others stop, shocked, watching in out-of
breath horror as Sawyer FIRES, AGAIN AND AGAIN and the thing
gets CLOSER AND CLOSER UNTIL SAWYER'S GUN FIRES OUT AND
SUDDENLY, EXPLODING FROM THE BRUSH: A GIANT FUCKING ANIMAL
BURSTS OUT, FALLING TO THE DIRTY GROUND, DEAD -- BLEEDING --
and heaving its last breaths only two feet away from Sawyer,
who stares, in shock...
...At a giant WHITE BEAR.
And now we're on Charlie, Shannon, Sayid and Boone -- all of
them, in total mind-bending shock at what's just happened.
Out of breath, they all walk over to the beast, which inhales
and then exhales for the last time. A long beat, then:
SHANNON (CONT’D)
...That's... that's a big bear.
BOONE
-- You think... that's what killed the pilot?
Kate throws a look at Charlie -- this is exactly why he
should have kept his mouth shut. But as the cat is already
out of the bag --
CHARLIE
That? No. No, that's maybe a little
tiny preemie baby version -- this is
nothing compared to that --
KATE
-- Guys? This isn't just a bear.
(beat)
It's a polar bear.
And they're all staring, incredulous..



Citation :
SAWYER
Did. Did. You're welcome for that.
And Kate turns to him. Tough.
KATE
Where did that come from.
SAWYER
Prob'ly Bear Village. How the hell do I
know --
KATE
-- Not the bear, the gun.
SAWYER
I got it off one of the bodies.
SAYID
(confronting him too)
One of the bodies.
SAWYER
(fuck you)
Yeah, one of the bodies.
SHANNON
People don't carry guns on planes!
SAWYER
They do if they're a U.S. Marshal! There
was one on the plane --
KATE
-- How do you know that?!
SAWYER
'Cause I saw a guy lying there with an
ankle holster -- so I took the gun,
thought it might come in handy, guess
what, it did!
KATE
-- Why do you think he was a Marshal?
SAWYER
Because he had a clip-on badge!
(WHIPS OUT THE BADGE, angry)
Took that too! Thought it was cool!
Listen, Sweetheart, you should be kissing
my ass after what I just did for you!

SAYID
I know who you are. You're the prisoner.
SAWYER
(beat)
...I'm the what?
SAYID
You found a gun on a U.S. Marshal? Yes,
I believe you did. You knew it was there
because you were the one he was bringing
back to the States. Those handcuffs were
on you.
(everyone stares at Sawyer,
nervous)
That's how you knew there was a gun --
SAWYER
-- Hey, guess what, screw you!
SAYID
That's who you are, you son-of-a-bitch!
SAWYER
Be as suspicious of me as I am of you --
go ahead!
SAYID
You accuse me, but you are the prisoner!
SAWYER
-- Fine, I'm the criminal! You're the
terrorist, we can all play a part!
(to Shannon)
Who do you wanna be? I'll tell ya what
you should be!
And in the middle of their argument KATE GRABS THE GUN FROM
SAWYER'S PANTS -- Sawyer swings around --
SAWYER (CONT'D)
HEY!
But Kate stands there, defiantly holding the gun on Sawyer.
Everyone just freezes -- TENSE --
KATE
Who knows how to use a gun?
CHARLIE
I think you just pull the trigger. But
Kate, we just escaped death, let's not
push our luck --
KATE
I want to take it apart.
CHARLIE
-- Oh --
SAYID
There's a button on the grip -- push
that, it will eject the magazine.
And Kate does it: it POPS out with a solid metallic SNAP.
SAYID (CONT'D)
But there's still a round in the chamber
-- hold the grip, pull back on the top
part of the gun --
She does that -- the bullet POPS out. She tosses Sayid the
clip. She picks up the bullet. Hands Sawyer the worthless
gun. He takes it, somehow amused by her.
SAWYER
I know your type.
KATE
I'm not so sure.
SAWYER
Yeah, I've been with girls like you.
KATE
Not girls exactly like me.
Sawyer's amused by her. And he just walks away -- and we
HOLD ON KATE for a long beat as she watches him go

Completely oblivious to the fact that he’s just been picked
out of a lineup.
BACK WITH KATE AND SAYID
KATE
Sonofa...

And Kate is set to rip Sawyer’s fucking head off, but...
Sayid grabs her arm.
SAYID
I don’t see the water.
KATE
So?
SAYID
You go after him now, he’ll give
you nothing. But if you wait...
(beat)
A rat will always lead you to its
hole.
And OFF KATE, knowing he’s right but not happy about it. And
as NIGHT finally falls on the BEACH...
Citation :
SAWYER. And we’re close on him as he POPS OPEN one of the
suitcases revealing an array of goodies - SUNTAN LOTION, BUG
SPRAY, CANDY, CIGARETTES, LIGHTERS, MEDICINE, ALCOHOL...
And as he reaches for a pack of the SMOKES...
The CRACK of a twig behind him! SPINS AROUND in time to see -
44 KATE RUSHING HIM. 44
It’s a flat-out fucking TACKLE and this girl really fucking
knows what she’s doing because in a matter of seconds --
She’s PINNED Sawyer -- her KNEES pressing hard into his
shoulders -- a provocative position under any other set of
circumstances. As soon as Sawyer recognizes his attacker --
SAWYER
It’s about time.
KATE
(fierce)
About time for what?
SAWYER
I made this birthday wish four
years ago.
Kate’s eyes BURN as SAYID emerges from the jungle --
SAYID
Does he have it?
SAWYER
What? You two follow me out
here? I wanna see a warrant!
KATE
-- Where’s the water, you--
And Sawyer suddenly PUSHES UP, TWISTS -- ROLLS OVER -- and
now he’s pinning Kate down -- He GRINS, out of breath --
SAWYER
That’s better.
KATE
-- Get off me...
But Sayid is already there, PULLS Sawyer up, PUSHES him --
Fed up with the cutesy bullshit --
SAYID
Give the water to us now.
SAWYER
(pissed)
Touch me again.
Kate gets up, moves to the SUITCASES. Pulls them open --
More BOOZE, SMOKES, ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT -- But NO WATER --
SAWYER *
You really think I stole your damn
water?
SAYID
We know you gave two bottles to the
Korean couple...
Sawyer takes a step forward -- gets in Sayid’s FACE --
SAWYER *
I don’t give nothin’ to nobody.
KATE *
It’s not here. *
SAWYER *
(real slow so Sayid can *
understand)
I traded Mr. Miyagi the last water
I had for a fish he caught -- we
worked it out caveman-style.
KATE
(skeptical)
You gave up your last two bottles?
SAWYER
Water has no value, Freckles --
it’s gonna rain sooner or later. *
And hell, I’m an optimist. *
And there’s something about him -- despite the fucking
bravado -- that makes it instantly clear that Sawyer is
absolutely INNOCENT. He’s telling the truth.
So they’re back to square one. And still without water.
Sayid turns to Kate --
SAYID
Come on, let’s go.
Sayid starts back into the jungle as Kate levels Sawyer with
a look. He just SMILES. Kate shakes her head, goes to
follow Sayid when --
SAWYER
Hey. You forgot something.
Kate turns as Sawyer tosses her a large LEATHER WALLET. Kate
is confused... but FLIPS IT OPEN TO REVEAL --
IT’S THE MARSHAL’S BADGE.
SAWYER
Seeing as you’re the sheriff now,
might as well make it official.
Ah. The IRONY.
But Kate KEEPS the badge. Slides it into her pocket as she
heads back to the beach. Sawyer watches her go, pops a smoke
into his mouth. And as the FLAME flicks from his lighter --

epi 106 : House of the Rising Sun

Kate. Sitting. Looking at the sea, letting the water hit
her toes, a near-perfect moment wrecked by Sawyer’s arrival.
SAWYER
Well well well, if it ain’t the
Belle of the Ball.
(off Kate)
So what’s it like having both the
doctor and Cap’n Falafel fighting
over you?
Although Kate shoots Sawyer a “go to hell” glare, it is clear
from their interaction that they too have a spark - different
from the emotional bond she shares with Jack, but it’s there:

SAWYER (CONT’D)
Just calling ‘em like I see ‘em,
freckles.
Truth be told, I’m not the only
person wondering where you’re going
to weigh in on this whole “moving
off the beach” thing.
KATE
Please.
SAWYER
Hey -- Jacko may be saving lives,
but everyone here knows you went to
get the transceiver, and hunt boar,
and send the distress signal...
even if they don’t know how that
worked out.
Kate looks at Sawyer - and the plainness of her question
makes it clear that she DOES care what he says and does:
KATE
Are you going?
SAWYER
That’s the real trick, isn’t it?
We all pack up stakes to the caves,
and the next day a plane passes by -
they’re gonna go on their merry way
and be none the wiser... On the
other hand, you stay here and get
eaten by boars or fall off a rock -
there isn’t gonna be anyone around
to answer the 911 call, am I right?
KATE
You didn’t answer my question.
SAWYER
You didn’t answer mine. And I
asked first.
(getting up)
Sayonara, sugarpop.
And OFF Kate as she watches him go...

wistfully, when he hears:

Jack spins to face -- KATE, smiling unsurely. Happy to see *
Jack despite what he’s holding. Trying to make light of it -- *
CONVERTED TO PDF BY -- STORYTELLER
KATE (cont’d) *
Smaller, too. I mean, if you’d *
like something for your wallet. *
He looks at her a beat, almost sadly.
JACK
Just came to pick up a few things.
He hands Kate her mug shot. The ROAD BLOCK between them.
JACK (cont’d)
This, uh... It was with my stuff.
Kate takes the photo, folds it up -- MEMORIES HERE. Jack
goes back to packing up his things. *
KATE
So... You’re not staying.
JACK
Hurley and I... We’ve been checking
out in the valley...
(pointedly)
And they’re a hell of a lot safer
than living out here on the beach.
KATE
You’re mad at me.
He stops packing to look at her.
JACK
No. Kate, I’m-- I just don’t
understand why you won’t come with
me -- us. The caves are--
KATE
We crashed eight days ago. I’m not *
setting up house here, Jack. *
JACK
Look, I want off this island too.
But we both know that’s not gonna *
happen anytime soon.
They stand in silence for a beat, then...
KATE *
Sayid... He has a plan...
JACK
To find the source of the distress *
signal. Yeah. I remember.
KATE
The transmission’s coming from
somewhere on the island. If we can *
find it --
JACK
-- That signal’s been playing on a *
loop for sixteen years. The woman *
who left it wasn’t rescued, what
makes you think it’ll be different *
for us? *
KATE
(after a beat)
Because I believe it.
Jack eyes her a moment.
JACK
I wish I shared your faith.
SAWYER (O.S.)
Wouldn’t mind sharing a few things
with her myself.
They both turn to see SAWYER strolling up, a bag slung over *
his shoulder. There’s no love lost between him and Jack. *
KATE
What do you want, Sawyer?
SAWYER
Not a thing, sweetheart. Heard the
doc here was vacating the premises.
Thought I’d best lay claim to my
new digs before somebody else does.
He tosses his bag into the tent. Jack can’t fucking believe
this guy --
JACK
I didn’t build this for you to live
in -- it’s an infirmary.
SAWYER
Not without a doctor around it
ain’t. Yep, I could fix this place
up real nice.
(turning his gaze to Kate)
Maybe even find someone to share it
with me.
Kate rolls her eyes, digusted. Jack doesn’t have time for
this High School shit -- Hoists the leather bag...
JACK
Fine. Take the tent.
KATE
Jack...
JACK
I’ll see you later.
And Jack goes. Sawyer comes up behind her.
SAWYER
Offer on the tent stands, Freckles. *
Think about it. *
Kate throws him a glare, moves off. Sawyer smirks as he *
calls after her... *
SAWYER (cont’d) *
C’mon -- You don’t wanna be out *
there all alone, do ya?

Citation :
CLOSE ON KATE, an ICY expression on her face... *
KATE
Why don’t I believe you?
WIDEN to see she’s addressing a lounging SAWYER, his battered *
copy of “WATERSHIP DOWN” on his lap. *
SAWYER
Couldn’t say, cupcake. Most folks
think I got a trustworthy face. Or
so they tell me.
KATE *
You’ve been hoarding like a packrat
since the crash and you don’t have
a single laptop?! *
Sawyer studies Kate. Smiles.
SAWYER
We are testy, aren’t we? Still
upset about your little breakup?
KATE
What?
SAWYER
Musta hurt bad when Doc came back
for his record collection...
(just plain mean)
Cause now there’s nothing for him
to come back for. *
And Kate just looks at him. Then speaks to him evenly --
KATE
God, it must be so exhausting... *
SAWYER *
What’s that? *
KATE *
Living like a parasite. Always *
talking, never giving...
SAWYER
Boy, you sure got me pegged.
KATE
I get it now. It all makes sense.
You don’t want to get off this
island because there’s nothing for
you to go back to. There’s no one *
you miss. And no one misses you.
SAWYER
Awww. Feelin’ sorry for me. How *
sweet.
KATE
I don’t feel sorry for you.
(simple; true)
I pity you.
Sawyer just sits there for a MOMENT. Then he reaches into
his bag again and brings out a LAPTOP. He slides the BATTERY
out, TOSSES it to her --
SAWYER
All you had to do was say please.
Kate stares at him a beat, then turns and goes. ON SAWYER, *
watching her, his glib smirk melting away for just a second,

SAWYER, taken aback by this reception. After a beat...
SAWYER

(off her look)

but myself. Well, here I am. *
Ready to pitch in.
Are Sayid and Kate skeptical? Fuck yeah.
KATE
You’re here to help?
SAWYER
Hey -- You act any more surprised,
I’m gonna be insulted.
And OFF KATE, wondering what Sawyer’s up to -- no idea that
he’s sitting on the news of the cave-in -- WE FIND --

Citation :
SAWYER, sitting in the shade of a tree watching Kate as she *
scans the horizon, checking her watch constantly. *
SAWYER
Still ain’t five. Just like the
last time you checked your watch.
KATE
I just don’t want to miss Sayid’s
signal. Remember, I’ll fire the
flare, you switch on the antenna.
SAWYER
Thank the good Lord I got you here
to keep reminding me.
Kate shoots him a look, then focuses back on the horizon. *
After a beat...
SAWYER (cont’d)
So what do you see in that guy,
anyway?
(off her look)
Jack. What is it about him that
makes you go all weak in the loins?
KATE
Do you try to be a pig, or does it
just come naturally?
SAWYER *
It’s that he’s a doctor, right? *
Ladies always dig the doctors.
Hell -- Give me a couple band-aids,
bottle of Peroxide and I could run
this island, too --
KATE
You’re actually comparing yourself
to Jack?
SAWYER *
Difference between us ain’t all
that big, sweetheart. I guarantee
if he’d survived a few more weeks *
on the island, you’d have figured *
it out -- *
KATE
What did you just say?
Sawyer looks at her, unsure what she means.
KATE (cont’d)
You said ‘if he’d survived a few *
more weeks...’ What does that -- *
Sawyer realizes he’s BUSTED. He manages a smirk --
SAWYER
Aw... damn. Didn’t I tell you? *
Word from the valley is Saint Jack
got himself buried in a cave-in...
KATE
What?!
SAWYER
Hey, look at the bright side... *
(brutal)
Now you got someone else to pity.
Shit. The man holds a GRUDGE. Kate stares at him in shock. *
And just when we think she’s gonna rip his fucking head off -- *
She throws the bottle rocket to the ground. Turns. And RUNS. *
ON SAWYER, his spiteful expression dissolving into something
like REMORSE. He picks up the bottle rocket by his feet,
regards it for a moment, before looking after her again...

A LONE FIGURE walks down the beach. We’re nowhere near the
WRECK. This is straight up PRISTINE. And the figure is --
-- KATE. Carrying canvas bags overflowing with BANANAS as
she comes upon A PILE OF CLOTHES, folded neatly beside A PACK
OF CIGARETTES and a worn PAPERBACK of WATERSHIP DOWN.
Curious, Kate kneels to examine the book -- then, a SHOUT --
SAWYER (O.S.)
Helluva book. *
Kate stiffens, turns to the WATER. Finds SAWYER, barechested
as he wades back to land. Smiles --
SAWYER (CONT’D)
It’s about bunnies. *
Sawyer emerges from the water, walking toward her. The look
on Kate’s face says it all as he steps into frame to reveal --
-- he’s BARE-ASS NAKED... and yeah, he could put his clothes
on, but nope, he’s gonna stand here, waiting for a reaction.
Kate just looks at him -- and he just looks at her. Daring
her eyes to drop. Finally:
KATE
Water’s cold, huh?
Ouch. But Sawyer GRINS --
SAWYER
You bet. How ‘bout you come a
little closer and warm me up?
Okay, she reviles the guy, but damn if there isn’t chemistry
here. Not that she’d ever cop to it.
KATE
Does this ever actually work?
SAWYER
Depends on what you mean by “this?”
KATE
This. This macho...
SAWYER
-- “Macho?” Ain’t heard that
one in awhile. Makes me
wanna grow a mustache.
Kate just shakes her head. Why fucking bother?
KATE
You sure know how to make a girl
feel special, Sawyer.
We PUSH IN TIGHT ON SAWYER as Kate walks off --

Citation :
And so, Sawyer gets up. Jack takes a step toward him -- so
ready to fucking rumble that he misses the arrival of --
KATE (O.S.)
What’s going on.
-- Sawyer turns to see KATE.
SAWYER
We were just exchangin’ recipes. *
Jack REACTS to Kate’s presence. FUCK. Doesn’t want to kick *
Sawyer’s ass in front of her. Eager to take advantage of *
this, Sawyer flashes that GRIN --
SAWYER (CONT’D) *
Sorry we couldn’t work things out, *
Doc. *
And as Kate wonders what she just stepped into, we STAY WITH *
SAWYER as he walks off -- CLOSING in and once we’re TIGHT, *
PAN DOWN to see his fist closed tightly around THAT LETTER
.

Citation :
KATE
Let me talk to Sawyer.
JACK
-- What?
KATE *
I can reason with him.
JACK
This guy doesn’t know reason.
KATE
Maybe not. But my plan is still
better than yours.
Jack looks at her. Fortunately, he likes Kate more than he
hates Sawyer. Smiles despite himself.
JACK
What makes you think he’ll listen?
KATE
He says we have a connection. *
And although he’s probably not aware of this consciously,
Jack might just be a little JEALOUS when he says:
JACK
Do you?
KATE
Please.
And as we can’t help but notice that wasn’t exactly a
denial...

Citation :
REVEAL SAWYER, sweating as he tosses the pieces into a PILE.
He reaches for another piece of DRIFTWOOD AS --
KATE (O.S.)
So what do you want?
Sawyer glances to see KATE, but just keeps on chopping:
SAWYER
‘Scuse me?
KATE
What do you want, Sawyer?
SAWYER
Freckles, I got so many answers to *
that question I wouldn’t even know
where to start.
KATE
What do you want for the inhalers?
SAWYER
Huh. Good question. Hang on a
tick. What do I want?
CRACK. Splits another piece of wood. Then, turns to Kate.
SAWYER (CONT’D)
A kiss ought to do it.
KATE
What?
SAWYER
A kiss. From you. Right now.
Kate just stares. He can’t possibly... but he stares back.
Yeah. He’s serious. Kate shakes her head, ANGRY now --
KATE
I don’t buy it.
SAWYER
-- Buy what?
KATE
The act. You try too hard, Sawyer.
I ask you to help a sick woman and
you want me to kiss you? No one
can be that disgusting.
ON SAWYER, getting pissed. Why? Because maybe Kate’s a
little close to the mark here. And she’s not done --
KATE (CONT’D)
I’ve seen you, y’know.
SAWYER
Seen me what?
KATE
With that piece of paper. The one
you keep in your wallet. I’ve seen
your face when you read it. And
the way you fold it up so
carefully. It means something to
you. So play your games all you
want -- but I know there’s a human
being in there somewhere.
(beat: compassionate)
Give me the medication. Please.
And that just sits there for a few beats. Just let it sink
in. Did she actually get through to him? Then:
SAWYER
You think you understand me?
KATE
Yeah. I think I --
SAWYER
-- Shut up.
Kate recoils. The pure VENOM in Sawyer -- not the playful
rogue we’re used to. No. This is serious.
SAWYER (CONT’D)
Wanna know what kind of human being
I am?
And he reaches into his pocket. Removes the ENVELOPE.
SAWYER (CONT’D)
Read it.
Kate takes a few steps back -- scared -- but he grabs her
wrist.
TIGHT. Stuffs the letter into her other hand.
SAWYER (CONT’D)
Read it.
He lets go of her, but doesn’t step back. Let there be no
misunderstanding here -- Kate better fucking do what he says.
So she unfolds the letter. A beat. Then: *
KATE
“Dear Mr. Sawyer. You don’t know
who I am. But I know who you are. *
And I know what you done. You *
slept with my mother...
(beat; slower now)
And then you stole my dad’s money
all away. So he got angry and he
killed my mother. And then he
killed himself, too.”
SAWYER
Don’t stop now. You’re gettin’ to
the good part.
Kate looks at him. Trying to process all this. Not wanting
to continue, but not really having a choice.
KATE
“All I know is your name. But one
of these days I am gonna find you
and I am going to give you this
letter so you’ll remember what you
done to me.
(beat)
You killed my parents, Mr. Sawyer.”
And that’s it. Sawyer waits a moment. Hoping Kate’s eyes
will come back up to meet his...
...but she can’t
. He reaches out, snatches the letter and
gets in real close -- his voice part whisper, part GROWL --
SAWYER
(more a vitriolic “fuck
you” than any real
request)
Now how ‘bout that kiss.
But of course Kate is just frozen -- stunned -- and so, after *
a long beat. *
SAWYER (CONT’D) *
...I didn’t think so. *
And Sawyer turns and walks away. But we’re settling into an *
ECU OF KATE -- stricken.
And as her eyes finally come up to him go...

Citation :
HANDHELD. INTENSE. Jack & Sayid, fierce determination,
literally DRAGGING an unconscious Sawyer off the beach.
FIND KATE riding in their wake --
KATE
What are you doing?
SAYID
We’re solving a problem. Do not
concern yourself.
KATE
(catching on)
You’re going to torture him?
Jack’s eyes FLASH. But he says nothing. Ain’t happy about
it, but COMMITTED to it. He and Sayid have now reached the
TREE LINE. Kate reaches out, grabs him by the arm --
KATE (CONT’D)
Jack -- if you do this...
(beat)
You’re no better than he is.
JACK
This was his choice. Not mine.
And with that, he gently pulls his arm out of her grasp and
disappears into the JUNGLE. OFF KATE --

Citation :
The CAMERA pans off various beach dwellers, reacting to the
DISTANT SCREAMING coming from the jungle, looking at each
other, perplexed... We HEAR a couple ad-libs -- “Oh my god.”
and “It’s about time someone did something about him.” as we--
PAN OVER to CLOSE-UP ON KATE, staring off into the jungle
knowing all too well what that sound it.
..

Citation :
But Sayid is moving the knife even CLOSER. MACRO-CLOSE. And
he’s actually gonna fucking do it --
SAWYER
Okay! Okay, you win.
Sayid holds the knife steady --
SAYID
Where is it?
A beat. Then --
SAWYER
Only person I’ll tell --
(directly to Jack)
Is her.
Jack knows exactly who “her” is. Sayid looks at Jack, his
knife still poised at Sawyer’s eye.
JACK *
...Kate? *
SAYID
He’s stalling...
SAWYER
That’s the deal. *
(serious)
Take it or leave it.
ON JACK, actually considering Sawyer’s offer as we hear a
GRAVELLY VOICE --
KILEY (PRE-LAP)
Tell me, Sawyer - do you want to
die?

Citation :
We came back OUT OF SAWYER’S HEAD to find --
JACK standing, looking down at Sawyer -- arms still trussed
behind the tree. His eyes come up, full of VENOM for Jack.
But what Jack offers in return is CURIOSITY --
JACK
What’s your problem, Sawyer?
And that just hangs there for a few moments. And we’re
anticipating Sawyer’s response when -- NOISE from the
surrounding jungle. Jack turns to see --
SAYID returning. Behind him, KATE. And as soon as she sees
Sawyer tied up like an animal -- no matter what she thinks of
the guy -- There’s a flash of VULNERABILITY.
SAYID
Okay. She’s here. Now tell us.
SAWYER
Uh uh. No.
(beat)
I want to talk to her alone.
Jack uncrosses his arms -- PISSED -- Sayid already moving
back towards Sawyer --
SAYID
You are through making requests...
KATE
Stop.
(then)
I’ll be okay. Just go. Let’s get
this over with.
SAWYER
You heard the lady. Scram.
Man... Jack want to YANK this guy’s head off, but --
KATE
Jack --
(he looks at her)
I’ve got it.
A BEAT. Jack turns his look to Sawyer, who offers up this
shit-eating GRIN. Back to Kate --
JACK
We’ll be close.
And as Jack and Sayid (grudgingly so) walk off into the
jungle, CAMERA DROPS DOWN on the OTHER SIDE OF THE TREE to
find --
SAWYER twisting his wrists around inside the bungee rope
binding them -- starting to working himself free.

Kate oblivious to this as she approaches him. Matter-of-fact
tone undercut by concern --
KATE
What did they do to you?
SAWYER
Nothin’. Just got a manicure
.
KATE
(shakes her head; then)
So I’m here. Where is it?
SAWYER
Happy to tell you...
(beat)
Soon as I get that kiss.
KATE
What? -- Are you serious?
SAWYER
Baby, I’m tied to tree in the
Jungle of Mystery and I just got
tortured by a damn spinal surgeon
and a genuine I-raqi.
(beat)
‘Course I’m serious.
Kate just looks at him. Not knowing quite WHAT to think.
SAWYER (CONT’D)
You’re not seeing the big picture
here, Freckles. You really gonna
let that woman suffocate ‘cause you
can’t bring yourself to give me a
little kiss? Hell -- it’s only
first base... lucky for you I ain’t
greedy. I’m making it real simple
here -- you wanna be a hero or not?
ON KATE. Yeah. It’s fucking ridiculous... But dammit if he
doesn’t make a compelling argument. And dammit if there
isn’t a strong contingent of women out there watching this
show who WANT her to do it.
And we can see the moment in which she makes up her mind.
KATE
Okay.
SAWYER
Okay.
Kate approaches him. Squats down on her haunches. Gets
close. Looks into his eyes. He looks back.
And her is the first kiss on LOST.
What makes it interesting is that even though it starts out
as a chore -- a necessity -- somewhere about three or four
seconds in, it becomes something ELSE. And just before it
actually goes from something else to REAL...
Kate pulls away.
And we milk this delicious moment afterward for all it’s
worth. And despite the insanity of the circumstances under
which it happened, both of them felt something. Finally -- *
and when Sawyer talks to her now, it’s softer -- that kiss *
did something to him -- some of his swagger is gone -- he’s *
just a man now --

SAWYER (CONT’D)
I don’t have it.
KATE
What?
SAWYER
The medicine. I don’t have it.
Never did.
WHAT? Kate’s head is spinning --
KATE
Your book -- they said you got it
out of their suitcase...
SAWYER
Went in the drink with the rest of
the damn luggage from the tail.
Book washed up on shore.
SAWYER (CONT'D)
Had to dry it out, but it’s still a
damn good read. You’d like -- *
SLAP! We didn’t even see Kate’s hand move. Sawyer’s face
rocks to the side. Damn -- she hit him hard. Sawyer turns
back to her, blood trickling from his lip --
But she’s already walking away.

-- and they’re coming free - not a moment too soon - as *
Sawyer looks up to see -
SAYID arriving at the clearing - knife in hand - just as the
cord finally comes undone-- Sawyer pulls his arms out and he-- *
Throws himself at Sayid, holding out his arm to block Sayid’s
knife. Sayid twists, THUMPS Sawyer in the KIDNEY but --
- Sawyer LUNGES for Sayid’s KNIFE HAND, grabs his wrist -- *
the two in close quarters -- GRAPPLING as -- *
JACK arrives at the clearing, Kate right behind him -
JACK
HEY
HAND-HELD -- DIRTY as Sayid and Sawyer ROLL ON THE GROUND, *
PLAYING FOR FUCKING KEEPS and suddenly -- *
SAWYER LETS OUT A CRY OF AGONIZING PAIN. *
Sayid instantly freezes -- looks down to see his white shirt *
STAINED WITH BLOOD -- *
But Jack is here and he’s pushing Sayid aside because - *
The knife is literally STICKING OUT OF SAWYER’S ARM -- lodged *
deep in his BICEP -- and it is fucking GUSHING BLOOD -- *
SAYID
-- He... he got loose -- *
attacked me --
JACK
-- You hit an artery -
Sawyer in PAIN, but in some degree of SHOCK too. KATE *
arrives, sees the knife impaling Sawyer’s arm -- *
KATE *
Ohmygod... *
And Jack, medical instincts kicking in, wraps his head around *
the hilt and -- *
PULLS THE KNIFE RIGHT OUT! *
Sawyer CRIS OUT IN PAIN - clenches down his teeth as Jack
sticks his hand into the wound - trying to find the artery as
Sawyer reflexively SQUIRMS --
JACK
Stay still, dammit!
Sawyer’s fist clench around the earth - his fingernails
digging into the ground as Jack does his grim duty -- SHIT -- *
Jack’s hand -- already SOAKED with Sawyer’s blood... *
KATE *
Can you stop it? *
Jack just looks at her. Then at SAYID. And this is not *
exactly a look of CONFIDENCE. Sawyer registers it... *
And off these two men -- one literally holding the other’s *
life in his HAND.

Citation :
Sawyer GRITS HIS TEETH -- SEVERE FUCKING PAIN. *
Kate is here, but it’s JACK who’s holding Sawyer’s artery
closed with his bare hand
-- Sawyer completely dependent on
Jack and hating every fucking second of it. *
SAWYER
Let go. Just -- leave it.
(hisses through his pain)
-- I know you want to.
JACK
Shut up. Stop moving.
And the blood loss is making Sawyer a little light-headed.
Almost plays DRUNK --
SAWYER
You’ve been waiting for this,
haven’t you? Yeah -- I’ll bet you
have. You get to be a hero again
‘cause that’s what you do. You fix
everything up all nice.
(looks to Kate)
Tell him to let go, Freckles. We
already made out -- what I got left
to live for?

Jack REACTS to this. Looks to Kate -- her adverted gaze
answer enough that Sawyer isn’t completely full of shit.

SAWYER (CONT’D)
Hey, Jack? You should know
something -- Right now? Tables
were turned?
(blinking to stay
conscious)
I’d watch you die.
And Sawyer barely manages a smile as his eyes finally CLOSE.
And after a moment of COMPLETE DARKNESS

Citation :
INT. SAWYER’S TENT - LATE AFTERNOON 35
Sawyer’s eyes FLUTTER OPEN. Groggy. And the first thing he
feels is PAIN. Looks down at his ARM. THICK BANDAGE AROUND *
IT. Tries to move it -- WINCES as we -- *
WIDEN to find him propped up in his makeshift BED, back in
his TENT on the beach. And he’s not alone --
KATE
You’re lucky to be alive.
Find Kate, literally sitting by his “bedside.” We should
note something about Sawyer here -- He is real.
SAWYER
The doctor -- ?
KATE
Ignored you and saved your life
anyway.
SAWYER
Where is he?
KATE
He headed back to the caves to
check on that woman.
And that’s when Sawyer notices Kate’s holding something. An
ENVELOPE. His letter. And she SEES him notice it --
KATE (CONT’D)
I read it again. And then again.
Last couple hours -- I don’t know *
how many times. *
Sawyer a little vulnerable here. A little guarded --
SAWYER
Why would you -- ?
KATE
(simple; straight)
Because I’m trying to figure out
why you made me read it. *
(beat) *
Why you beat up that man instead of
just telling him you didn’t have
his wife’s medication. Why you *
pretended to have it anyway. *
(beat) *
Why you let yourself get tortured. *
(beat)
And the thing I kept coming up with
was -- it was that you want to be
hated. And maybe that’s why you
made me read this letter.
(opens it up; reads)
“You killed my parents, Mr.
Sawyer.”

And now Kate SIGHS. Almost like she SHES IT. Then --
KATE (CONT’D)
And then I looked at the envelope.
Kate turns over the envelope and we see A COMMEMORATIVE
EMBOSSED SEAL
. ON SAWYER, feeling totally NAKED...
KATE (CONT’D)
America’s Bicentennial --
Knoxville Tennessee. 1976.”
We let that sink in for a second. Then --
KATE (CONT’D)
You were a kid in 1976.
(then)
Eight, maybe nine years old.
SAWYER
-- Kate...
KATE
This letter wasn’t written to you.
(long beat)
You wrote this letter.
Sawyer’s eyes DROP -- holding them in a real TIGHT TWO-SHOT --
the pure INTIMACY of the moment impossible to avoid --
KATE (CONT’D)
Sawyer isn’t your name, is it?
And a LONG beat passes before --
SAWYER
(quietly)
...It was his name.
And he starts speaking slowly at first, in his own head...
SAWYER (CONT’D)
First heard it at my momma’s wake.
My daddy didn’t get one -- You
don’t get a wake when you kill
yourself.
(then)
Was my Uncle Doug who pulled me
aside. Told me it was a confidence
man who killed them. Told me how
he rolled into town, marked my
folks. Romanced my momma, used her
to get to their money. Wiped ‘em
out clean, left the mess behind.
Only thing the cops had was his
name on a bogus business card.
(beat)
So I wrote that letter. Wrote it
knowing I’d find him one day.
(then)
You want all the sad parts? ‘Cause
I spent the next ten years getting
passed off from one place to
another. Lady from the State wrote
me off -- “adjustment problems.”
Don’t that just say it all?
CAMERA STARTING TO PUSH IN on him now as he tells this story.
A story he has probably never told out loud --
SAWYER (CONT’D)
And then I was nineteen -- needed *
six grand to pay off some guys I *
was in trouble with. So I found a *
pretty lady with a dumb husband who *
had some money. *
(owning it)
And I got them to give it to me.
(shakes his head;
chuckles)
How you like that for tragedy?
Became the man I was hunting. *

Sawyer PULLS the letter from her hand. Kate surprised --
SAWYER (CONT’D)
Get out.
And Kate’s eyes narrow. Can’t believe she almost actually
just cried for this fucker. And now, her own walls going up,
she stands. Looks down at him for a moment...
But there’s nothing left to say. So she goes

Once she’s gone, SETTLE ON SAWYER. Watching her walk away.

là je pense que kate pleure à cause de tout, le passé de sawyer, et de réaliser à quel point sa vie a été dure puis sayid qui s'en va à cause de tout cela.

Merci beaucoup!!!! (heureusement que tu as souligné ce qui était important parce que j'ai un peu la flemme de tout lire là en plus j'ai pas trop le temps!!! ) C'est vraiment génial ce qui est dit là. Après ça, qu'on vienne pas nous dire que la relation Skate n'existe pas (méchants Kackers méchant ... Laughing )
